You should know the basic PCB material

If you have read any of our HTD circuits promotion flyers,
you might have seen that most of our promotions are about prototypes.

Today we are going to discuss about the material of the PCB prototypes.
Prototype production is different than mass production.
Not only because it´s much faster, also because the material used it´s quite special.
This is what we want to explain in this post.

So what special in the PCB prototype materials?
There are different types of materials that can be used to manufacture a PCB.
But the most common of which is called FR-4.
FR-4 is simply fiberglass and material woven together with an epoxy resin that includes fire-resistant properties.
This material is used that much due to it´s fire-resistant condition, which is one of the major requirements for PCBs.

Most of PCB prototypes are made from FR-4 but not limited to it.
In fact there are many other types of material to make PCB boards.
As well there some of these materials can handle high temperatures as FR-4, Polyimide, Hybrid Capable, High Copper Weight or Flex.
