You may don't know The PCB Production Process 

In the past, much of PCB industry in China was quite traditional. Factories were started at a time when computers and automation were just coming to be. During these times, PCB’s were created by hand and involved a tedious and repetitive process that workers performed day in and day out.

In recent years with the rapid growth of the PCB industry in China and advancement in technology and improved management at the factory level, a much more complex industry has developed from that old, repetitive manufacturing process.

In some of the larger, more modern factories like at HTD group, there are many different departments working in unison to create the circuit boards used today. Departments such as Designing, Engineering, R&D, Production, and Quality Control each play crucial roles in building a quality printed circuit board.

In coming articles we will be sharing some of basic knowledge about the PCB manufacturing process in order to educate and hopefully as you gain an understanding of all that goes into board production.

There are many steps needed to manufacture a PCB. For the purpose of this and coming articles, we categorized the process in 6 steps:

1. Drilling

2. Panel Plating (Copper Plating) 

3. Pattern Transfer (Film)

4. Film Stripping/ Etching

5. Solder mask, Printing and Silkscreen

6. Forming and Testing
